I am an American who recently decided to chuck a perfectly good assistant job to go chase my wanderlust. This is a blog about my travels and experiences. I grew up in small town Ohio, but have lived all over the U.S., including Memphis, TN, Los Angeles, and New York City. I have a thing for big cities. I enjoy writing and I am trying to use this blog as the impetus to do more of it.

Currently, I am teaching English in the suburbs of Tokyo, Japan and having a blast, but hopefully this will not be the only international stop on my grand tour. I hope to see as much of the world as I can, and I plan to write about it here.

  1. Hi, Rachel! I finally got around to delving into your blog, and I wonder why it took so long. I am so happy that you inherited your mom’s wonderful gift of writing. You put words and ideas into such a delicious souffle!

    I shall keep up better.

We are far less interesting. We finished our sunroom, so now we have a well-lit place for everything, including a great view of smoke-shrouded Pikes Peak. So far not much construction in the adjacent acreages, but that will come soon enough. Until then we get to wander around unclothed, as if on stage with no audience.

I need to fix what may be a gopher problem. Many of our beautiful, young trees are dying from the top. My research has been inconclusive up to now, and a visit by the arborist was a disappointment. Might be the underground critters. Must figure this out.

Gotta go. Keep up the terrific commentary!
