People enjoying the hanami party. I attended a rather international one, hence the numerous non-Japanese people you can see at what is mostly a traditional Japanese affair. One thing I thought was interesting is that the tarp area is treated like a “clean space” similar to a home floor. So, everyone had to remove their shoes before stepping on the tarp. This seemed to be true of every party and every tarp.
